Teaching Notes: David – Week 3
We’re in the midst of a teaching series in Salt Co. called “David: How God Makes a King”. For the course of the next 9 months we’ll be jumping in and out of this series, 3 & 4 weeks at a time to study the life of David in 1 and 2 Samuel. Our heart is that God might develop in you a heart like David’s that seeks fully after Jesus. Each week we’ll post the teaching notes here at thesaltcompany.com.
This week we looked at 1 Samuel 16:14-23 where David plays his lyre for Saul, driving away the evil spirit that was tormenting him. We were challenged to consider what it is that we’re putting into our head via the media we watch and listen to. David’s songs of worship to the Lord refreshed Saul’s soul, maybe you would take the challenge listen solely to worship music for 7-10 days and see how God might use it to refresh your soul.
We also examined the differences in how the Holy Spirit worked through select people the Old Testament and how the Holy Spirit works today in the life of every believer after the work of Jesus on the cross.
If you want to learn more, join us for Salt Co. on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM!
