Alumni Ski Retreat :: Dec. 21-23, 2009

Hey! For all you Salt Co. Alumni out there (i.e. you were in Salt Co., but have since graduated high school), here’s a reminder about the upcoming annual Alumni Ski Retreat! The dates are Monday, Dec. 21 to Wednesday, Dec. 23 We’ll be going to Caberfae Ski Resort again this year in Cadillac, Michigan. It’s a great place to ski!
Each day we’ll spend some time in the morning and evening studying God’s Word together, and the rest of the day skiing! It’ll be a blast and we hope many of you can join us again this year. This retreat is VERY laid back in nature, and it’s primary purpose is for us to reconnect with one another and encourage one another in our relationships with Jesus.

We were perfecting our new look for the slopes.

HOW MUCH IS IT THIS YEAR?
The cost is $120 and includes lodging, meals, and your lift tickets for 3 days. Not included, however, is ski rental. You are welcome, though, to bring your own skis or snowboard. You should also plan to bring some spending money for extra food in the lodge, and other incidentals.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Skiing clothes. A very warm winter coat, gloves, snow pants, wool socks, stocking cap, scarf, face mask. I’d recommend bringing or buying some ski goggles, too. Not a bad idea to bring extras of each, too.
  • We’ll be staying AT Caberfae this year, and there’s a heated outdoor swimming pool. (Yes, in the winter!) So bring a swimsuit!
  • Bedding is provided, but you might want your own pillow.
  • Regular toiletries and a towel.
  • Your Bible, pen, and a notebook.
  • At least 3 days clothing. I’d recommend bringing extra just in case you get too cold or you ski like Julie and your clothes get wet from tumbling down the hill in a ball of snow.
  • Board games, cards, etc. (For those in Josh’s car, plan on a mean game of Monopoly again on his iPhone during the drive up! — But beware, Aaron cheats!)
  • IMPORTANT: Bring extra ski poles. Sarah likes to steal them from old men as she blows by ‘em on the green slopes!
  • Whatever else you think you might need. You’re all ALUMNI now, big bad adults, so hopefully you can figure it out!

To get officially signed up to join us, contact Pastor Josh. Hope to see you all soon, have fun with finals!!!

Julie and Sarah went down this slope last year. But not the way most people do...
