Winter Weather Policy

Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking? Just wanted to post a quick note concerning our winter weather cancelation policy for Salt Co. events (J-BOX, House Groups, etc.). This post will explain our decision process and how we will communicate cancellations.
How We Determine Weather Cancellations

  • Our church is located within the Wawasee Community School Corporation, so during the school year we’ll follow their lead.
  • If school is cancelled due to weather on a day we have an event, that day’s event will be canceled for the evening. If it is not a cancellation due to weather (i.e. teacher in-service, conferences, etc.) we will still have our events that evening.
  • If school is let out early due to weather on a day we have an event, that day’s event will be canceled for the evening. If the early dismissal is not due to weather (i.e. teacher in-service, conferences, etc.) we will still have our events that evening.
  • If school has a late start due to weather on a day we have an event, that evening’s activity will not necessarily be canceled. If we choose to cancel on that day due to weather, it will be communicated later in the day as we see how the weather progresses.
