Challenge 2012 Packing List

Your luggage is due at Wawasee Bible between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on Friday June 29^th.

You are limited to two (2) bags: a suitcase with dimensions not exceeding 36”X36”X36” and 50 lbs., and a carry-on bag (such as a backpack) with dimensions not exceeding 28”X22”X14” for the items you will want/need for the overnight train rides.

We will be meeting at Wawasee Bible at 12:00 PM on Saturday June 30^th, and departing for Chicago by 1:00 PM. Eat lunch before you come.

Remember to pack the things you will need for the overnight train ride SEPARATELY in your carry-on bag.

Clothes

• 7 sets of clothes.
• 1 set of pajamas, or sleeping clothes.
• Pack one pair of sweats or jeans for possible cold evenings or cold AC.
• Pack one long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt for possible cold evenings or cold AC.
• Don’t forget enough socks, underwear, extra shoes, hats, etc. that you might need/want
• A modest swimming suit for possible swimming situations.
• Athletic shirts, shorts, and shoes for afternoon activities.

Toiletries

• Shampoo (enough for 7 days)
• Deodorant (enough for 7 days)
• Toothpaste and toothbrush (enough for 7 days)
• Body wash/soap for showering (enough for 7 days)
• Other incidentals, personal medications, etc. (enough for 7 days)
• Sunscreen
• Glasses and cleaner and/or contacts and solution for those who wear them (enough for 7 days)
• Gals, remember any feminine supplies you may need
• A towel

Other Items

• Valid photo ID (students over 18, only). I.e. driver’s license, passport, student I.D.
• Bible
• Pens
• Journal to write in
• Cell phone for emergency contact, and don’t forget your charger
• Extra spending money for the week and for buying souvenirs in the bayou
• Dry snacks for the week (i.e. granola bars, beef jerky, nuts, etc., nothing perishable)
• A pair of work gloves to donate

Optional Items

• $10 to donate to church plant offering through REACHNOLA
• LOVE MOVES care kit, destined for Haiti. Include:
  • Toothbrush
  • 2 bars soap
  • Hand towel
  • Toothpaste
  • Wide tooth comb
  • Band aids
  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Composition notebook
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Small scissors
  • Flip flops (any size)

Do Not Bring…

• iPods or mp3 players. We will take them from you for the week if you have them.
• Portable gaming devices.
• Other electronics, computers, etc.
• Fireworks, drugs, alcohol, etc.
• If you wonder whether or not you should bring it, the answer is probably no. (But if you’re not sure, ask a leader.)
