SCUM

SCUM is our Salt Co. Student Ministry Team. We meet twice a month during the school year for leadership development, spiritual development, and ministry development. SCUM is an acronym for “Students Committed Unto Ministry”. It’s also a play off of Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 4:10-13…

10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. 11 To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, 12 and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; 13 when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things.

Students may apply in July and January to be part of SCUM and the commitment is for one calendar year. Incoming freshmen must wait until at least January of their Freshmen year before they are allowed to apply.

Below is a copy of the application to be filled out and turned into Pastor Josh. Students will then be interviewed by Pastor Josh and other Student Ministry Staff to determine if SCUM is a logical next step in their spiritual and ministry development.

The 2010-2011 SCUM retreat will be August 13-14, 2010. If you apply, keep this date open on your calendar.
