JUST SO YOU KNOW...
We’re not looking to fill our servant leadership team with the cute, fun, and popular. We’re looking for people who love Jesus and are willing to make “servant-leadership” the standard their lives reflect. That’s why we’ve chosen the name “SCUM”. Not just because it’s a clever acronym (students committed unto ministry), but because it accurately reflects a biblical attitude of being a servant-leader. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 4:13 that he had become the scum of the earth for the sake of the gospel.

You need to understand on the front end that ministry can be and usually is a messy thing, especially when you’re leading it as a true servant of Jesus. It means you’ll have to do things you may not want to do. You’ll have to love people you may not care to love. And you’ll have to humble yourself, and be a servant—to be the very hands and feet of Jesus—to your peers and to the lost, often times going unrecognized and even misunderstood in your efforts.

MINISTRY READY STUDENTS ARE "FATteR"...
Faithful – Willing to live a consistent godly life-style.
Available – In order to serve in ministry, you must re-organize your priorities to be available for ministry.
Teachable – A willingness to learn and be corrected when neccessary.
Responsive – Willingness to cooperate with others and be responsive to God's leading and teaching.
